"Stephanie Meyer did it with Twilight. E.L. James brought S and M to the masses with '50 Shades Of Grey' (as a matter of fact, '50 Shades' was originally published as an Ebook with the author admitting 'very little expectation' for its success.)
What do these two authors have in common, aside from astonishing commercial success? They are both moms, with no professional writing experience. In fact, Meyer had never even written a short story before writing her best selling series which have sold over 100 million copies globally. Tina Fey (herself a mom of daughters Alice and Penelope) says it so eloquently.....:-)
Even if you have no desire to write best selling fiction, creating your own (now easily self-published) work for others to read on a mass level, has never been easier or more timely. Do you want to position yourself as an expert in your field? Do you want more leads or traffic to your blog or website? Or do you want to write something for your kids and leave a legacy?
No matter what your motivation is, I found a great resource in author and publicist in Cydney O'Sullivan, a self-proclaimed Aussie lass and expert in social media and the publishing world. Her latest blog post 'How Do You Know When You're Ready To Write Your Book' has four simple statements that, if any are a 'yes', you may very well be ready to be the next JK Rowling."

Quote Of The Day
"I was set free because my biggest fear had been realized, and I still had a daughter who I adored, and I had an old typewriter and a big idea. And so rock bottom became a foundation on which I rebuilt my life".
- JK Rowling
